CsI(Tl) crystal’s Wavelength is 550nm which allows Si-photodiodes to be used to detect the emission. Scintillator-photodiode pair makes it’s possible to diminish the size of the detecting assembly (Because of small size Si-PIN), high-voltage supply and magnetic shielding. The high radiation resistance (up to 102 Gy) allows CsI(TI) to be used in radiation detection, X ray imaging and high energy physics application area.
