GOS ceramic scintillator has two different Ceramic types including GOS:Pr and GOS:Tb. These ceramics has excellent characteristics such as high light output, high density, low afterglow performance, it’s widely used in medical imaging including medical CT and industrial CT scanner, security CT detectors. GOS Ceramic scintillator has high conversion efficiency for X-rays, and its decay time (t1/10 = 5.5 us) is short, which can realize repeated imaging in a short time. It can be used not only in medical imaging equipment but also in color television picture tubes. GOS ceramic scintillator has an emission peak spectral range at 470 ~ 900 nm, which is well matched with the spectral sensitivity of silicon photodiodes (Si PD).

Product Description

GOS:Pr/GOS:Tb is a ceramic material composed of gadolinium oxysulfide activated by praseodymium(Pr) or terbium(Tb) as doping elements. With excellent scintillation properties, it is widely used as scintillator material in medical imaging equipment such as PET scanners. The scintillation process involves converting high-energy photons, or particles, into visible light.

When excited by incident radiation, gadolinium atoms in GOS:Pr/GOS:Tb emit photons, which are then detected by photodetectors. This process allows precise imaging and detection of radiation sources. GOS:Pr/GOS:Tb are known for their high light output, short decay time and low afterglow, enabling fast and accurate radiation detection. It also has high stopping power against X-rays and gamma rays, making it very effective in medical imaging applications. Overall, the GOS:Pr/GOS:Tb ceramic is a valuable scintillator material that has revolutionized the field of medical imaging, leading to earlier diagnosis and more effective treatment of diseases.
